All of our flies are custom hand-tied in Smithers/Terrace, BC, Canada by Jaap Kalkman, Michael Van Wormer, Jessi Bell, and Myles Zuchotzki.

With extensive experience in commercial fly production, fly design, guiding, and destination travel, our team is well equipped to help you select the right patterns—and to tie the perfect flies for your next fly fishing adventure.

We offer a curated selection of proven fly designs available directly through our website. You can order these patterns using our standard online shopping experience, complete with basket and secure checkout.

If you’re looking for something truly unique, we also specialize in fully customized designs. Simply contact Michael directly at mike@skeenariverflysupply.com to discuss your ideas and submit your request.

Because custom fly production takes time, we recommend placing your order at least 2–3 months prior to your trip to ensure timely completion. Once your order is placed, we will provide an estimated completion date. Lead times typically range from 2 weeks to 3 months, depending on order size and seasonal demand.

For larger orders from lodges, guides, and outfitters, we recommend placing your order for the upcoming season shortly after the current season concludes.

To ensure custom production remains feasible and cost-effective, there is a minimum order of six hand tied flies per pattern.

The difference between a good angler and a great angler lies in the details—and the same is true for fly design.
