Junction Tubing

Junction Tubing (also known as connection tubing) is used to connect a tube to a hook. Depending on the size of the hook and the size of the tube you will need the appropriate sized Junction Tubing. Like all of our products we have sourced our Junction Tubing based on many years of practical experience. We found that silicone Junction Tubing tend to deteriorate too fast, while some harder plastic tubings are too stiff and tend to crack. Our Junction Tubing is very durable, and is highly resistant against cracking and deterioration.

Our Junction Tubing is available in 4 sizes (measured by outside diameter): 2.8mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm and 4.5mm. Depending on the type of use of the tubing you will need the appropriate size of tubing. Here are some guidelines:

For connecting tubes to hooks:
2.8mm Junction Tubing fits 1.8mm plastic tubes (link)
3.2mm Junction Tubing fits all metal tubes (link)
4.0mm Junction Tubing fits 3.0mm plastic tubes (link)
4.5mm Junction Tubing fits 4.2mm Predator tubes (link)

For incorporated Junction Tubing that aligns flush with the rest of the tube:
3.2mm Junction Tubing lines up with US tubes and 3mm plastic tubes (line with 1.8mm plastic tubes)
4.0mm Junction Tubing lines up with Predator tubes (lined with 3mm plastic tubes)

For free-swinging hooks (small piece of Junction Tubing over hook eye and knot):
2.8mm Junction Tubing for hooks size 1 and down and metal tubes or 1.8mm plastic tubes
3.2mm Junction Tubing for hooks size 1 to 1/0 and metal tubes or 3mm plastic tubes
4.0mm Junction Tubing for hooks size 2/0 to 4/0 and 4.2mm Predator tubes
4.5mm Junction Tubing for hooks size 3/0 and up.

Our Junction Tubing is available in a wide range of colours including clear/transparent, transparent coloured Junction Tubing and non-transparent solid coloured Junction Tubing. The colour can be chosen to match the fly or in contrast to the fly as a focal point.
