Wild boar is commonly used in Atlantic Salmon fly patterns. The guard hairs are mostly used to imitate feelers in shrimp patterns. Although still fairly uncommon in steelhead patterns, European Wild Boar opens up a range of possibilities for the imagianative fly tier. In addition to the guard hair, the under-fur is an excellent substitute for seal. Sold in pieces of minimally 2.5 x 2.5 inch (piece can be bigger depending on the quality/quantity of the bristle).
