Dyed Peacock Eyes

Dyed Peacock Eyes are a great natural material for legs and feelers. They can be used as a top dressing over Intruder wings, as collars for stinger and squid patterns, as wing toppings, etc. They can be applied by using a dubbing loop method or just as tied in as a bunch or individually. A very versatile material.

We like to mix in Dyed Peacock Eye fibres in patterns like our Rhea Stingers or as toppings/legs on Runners. We use them also quite extensively in many saltwater fly designs that need a “leggy” appearance. Once wet the fibres absorb the water and become quite flexible and mobile, for a very attractive action. Dyed Peacock Eyes are also a good alternative to Lady Amherst Tail feathers. The fibres can be left as a single coloured application, or can be marked with a black permanent marker if a barred application is wanted.

Our Dyed Peacock Eyes come in a wide range of colours. The eyes are lightly bleached before dyeing which removes some of the fluff and allows for a nice range of bright colours. The bleaching is such that it does not make the fibres brittle; very similar to our Ostrich Spey plumes. Five per pack, which goes a long way.
