Skittle Tubes - Fly Tying

Invented by the late Yuri Shumakow, Skittle Tubes are a great way to add a little weight to tube flies. The tapered design creates good support for wings or hackles while at the same time placing the weight forward, for a fly that will swim balanced and horizontal. This is our favourite tube for hair wing designs that require a bit of weight. Used in our Black & Blue and Derek's Pink Fly weighted variations, and in Alex Belonga's Nutria Sculpin Munkers. Great flies for when you need to stay down. The centre hole fits our 1.8mm plastic tubes, which applies to all our metal tubes. Top quality European machined tubes, with primer/coat/top coat finish for an extremely durable finish. For heavier flies a cone head can be added to the head of the fly.
